Prayer Concerns:

·         Emery Bontrager has been diagnosed with kidney cancer.

·         Pauline Coon (Clint Coon's mother) is recovering from surgery after breaking her hip.

·         Mike King is doing well with rehab from his knee replacement surgery.


Prayers for Missionaries:

·      Pray for Justin & Hannah Mast as they serve in Slovenia with CRU.

·      Pray for Jon & Lindsay Birkey as they return to Arizona.


Prayers for Community and Beyond:

·      Pray that the Lord would continue to work in helping us, McGrawsville UMC, and the surrounding community in the Buddy Bags program at Maconaquah schools.

·      Remember Thursday as a special day of prayer for our congregation – pray for our pastors and each other.

·      Remember to pray for the Leaders of our Country.   


Calling all quilters! Gather with a community of other quilters who share your passion and interest at the MCC Quilting Retreat at Camp Friedenswald in Cassopolis, Michigan, on November 3-5. Come alone or with a group, with skills to share or interest in learning, with a project for an MCC auction or a project of your own. More information at

The 2017 MDC Goldenrod Auction will be October 6 at the Shipshewana Auction Barn. The fun begins at 4:00 p.m. with an Amish haystack meal, a bake sale and the silent auction. The live auction begins at 4:30. Items for sale include comforters and quilts, handcrafted furniture, and much, much more. Next Sunday, October 1: Pastor Ben Schlegel will bring the morning message.  Scripture: John 10:1-10.  We will share communion next Sunday.

“Come for Coffee” in the church fellowship hall at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings in October and November.  Come and visit with friends and neighbors, bring someone with you who would enjoy a morning out.

Howard Twp. School is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Open house is from 2-5 p.m. today September 24.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

We will be ordering Offering Envelopes for 2018.  An information sheet about what you currently have is in your church mailbox.  Contact Joyce in the church office today, September 24, if you want a different option for next year.  Order will go in this week.

The Free Community Dinner will be this Saturday, September 30, 5-7 pm. We will be serving burgers & hot dogs. Please see the sign-up sheet on the Information Center to volunteer or bring dessert.

"Ladies Morning Out" is Saturday, October 7th at 9 A.M. Sign up today   Dawn Wilson will be sharing her artistic talents with us once again.  This time we will be painting a stained wood board with a snowman/holiday theme.  The cost is $8 per person.  We need everyone to sign up by Sunday, October 1st so that we can make sure we have enough supplies.  We will be having a variety of coffees and donuts as well.  Invite your friends, neighbors and co-workers for a fun morning out!  

You are invited to help celebrate Rose Horner’s 90th birthday. An open house celebration will be held Sunday, October 8, 2-5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. No gifts please.

The annual Peace scholarship Hymn Sing will be held October, 15th at Parkview Mennonite Church from 5-6 p.m. An Ice cream social with finger foods will follow the program.  Donations will be accepted for the Scholarship Fund

Sunday, November 26 is Faith and Football with the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts play the Tennessee Titans at 1:00 pm. After the game will be an opportunity to go on the field, hear from Colts players and coaches about their faith, and a chance for autographs. Currently tickets are $67, but will go up as tickets are sold out. Contact Pastor Ben if you are interested in attending Faith and Football with the Colts. Feel free to invite other friends and family who would be interested as well.

Please do not bring drinks into the sanctuary during worship. Quench your physical thirst in the Fellowship Hall before coming to receive the Living Water!
