Buddy Bags

Bunker Hill, Indiana

Feeding the children of
Maconaquah Elementary Schools

Hunger isn't just a third-world problem, it's in our backyard. Children in our own school systems sometimes only receive food while at school. Buddy Bags aims to provide simple, easy and nutritious meals for these children on the weekends.

We help support McGrawsville Community Church and the Maconaquah School Corporation, and community members to provide Buddy Bags to qualifying students at Pipe Creek Elementary and Maconaquah Elementary. Children who are on free and reduced lunch are able to receive a Buddy Bag every Friday. For the 2023-2024 school year, Buddy Bags are available to children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It costs  $140 to sponsor one child with a bag each week for the whole school year. That's $140 per child per year.

Jon & Lindsay Birkey

Missionaries

Peoria, Arizona

The son and daughter-in-law of church members Dale and Mary Birkey, Jon and Lindsay Birkey live in Peoria, Arizona. Through Gospel World Mission, they are dedicated to transforming Native American lives for Christ.

"God first called us to Arizona to share the love of Christ with Native American children and youth through serving as Bible camp directors at the Southwest Indian Ministries Center. Even though we continue to help with Bible camps, God has put on our hearts to use our administrative talents to help make Southwest Indian Ministries Center into a thriving facility. We strive to accomplish the vision of transforming Native American lives for Christ while providing opportunities for fellow believers to join us in furthering the Great Commission."
